BONUS feature: large 2-lvl shed house with built in bar! LANGLEY school district! Things to Do in the Area: The little down town in Great Falls (where there is a really nice Irish Pub with live music, the Old Broque; and several other restaurants) has lots of kid friendly places to go and events/festivals.The Great Falls library, across the street from the main shopping area, has lots of toddler/preschool kids mornings: They play music, the kids dance around, and someone reads to them. There is also a nice playground right beside the library. Great Falls often has community events a tree lighting festival that has a petting zoo, a Halloween parade, Oktoberfest and things like that on the village green near the Old Broque. There are two landscape/gardening places between Seneca and Georgetown Pike that also have kids events like hay rides and Christmas events. We are about a five minute drive from L Auberge Chez Fran ois, on the back side of Great Falls, a top-rated French restaurant with fantastic garden in good weather. Excellent wine and beer selection. If you like golf and tennis, the River Bend Country Club is a few minutes away. Just past that is the Great Falls National Park with amazing hiking and senic views. You can hike/bike (or drive) to the Potomac from the house via Seneca Regional Park and the Volcano Island Waterpark (fantastic for kids) is a few miles away, also on the Potomac. Heading West, towards Sterling, there are many kids classes (Discovery Center, etc.), playgrounds, and indoor gyms. There is a little baby swimming school very close by. The Bungalow Lake House is worth a visit if you're in the mood for a family-friendly sports bar and Dulles Town Center mall, with kids shops and indoor play area, is just a bit further down Leesburg Pike. Reston zoo is also a short drive away. As far as nightlife, in addition to the restaurants and bars in Great Falls, right at the end of Seneca is a place called Brix that has good food and a nice bar. Obviously there is all manner of food and drinks in the many shopping areas in Sterling, Reston, and Tyson's everything from national chains to local big names to a large variety of ethnic options but we're also not that far (about 20 mins) from downtown Leesburg that now has a lot of great breweries and wine bars such as Delirium, a Belgian place, and Blackhof Brewery, with a German flair. A great old town center atmosphere. We're also close to many of the VA wineries and some pretty breweries (like a place about 45 minutes from here called Dirt Farm Brewery, which has beautiful views). It's about 10 minutes to Whelie-Reston metro and the silver line.
